Basic Bath Bomb & Instructions

1/3 part citric acid
2/3 parts baking soda
Witch Haze

BLEND BLEND BLEND BLEND the citric acid and baking soda – this step is super important – if you don’t blend well, you end up with a grainy bomb. Use a mixer on larger batches.

Once you’ve blended really well, add your colorant. Dry pigments work best – don’t add too much though – the color shows up once you add the witch hazel.

Add your fragrance oils to your personal nose preference.

Now, this is the difficult part. Spritz (with a squirt bottle) the witch hazel onto your batch while stirring with the other hand. When your batch sticks together when squished, you need to start putting it in molds – time is of the essence. If you wait too long, the mixture will get hard. If you spritz too much, the mixture will be too wet and “grow” (start the fizzing reaction) on you.

Put the bombs in molds – wait a few minutes and tap them out. Let them air dry for 3 or 4 hours and voila! Wonderful, hard bath bombs. The harder you pack the bath bombs, the more dense, heavy, and durable bomb you will get.

Bath Beads

1/4 cup powdered milk
2 tbl. powdered sugar
2 tbl. borax powder(20 Mule Team)
1/4 cup rose water or orange water
2 tsp. vitamin E
10 drops essential oil

Combine the dried milk, sugar, and borax in a bowl, stirring until well mixed. Add the water, vitamin E, and fragrance. Stir until you have a thick dough. Depending on the humidity in the air, you may need to cut the water amount back. Try adding a little at a time until you get the thick dough. Roll dough into a ball, one teaspoon at a time with your hands. Repeat until all of the dough has been used. Place the balls on a sheet of tin foil or waxed paper and let dry for twenty four hours.

Bubble Bath & Recipes

BUBBLE BATH
1 quart water
1 Bar castille soap, grated
2 ounces glycerine
3 drops perfume

ROSE BUBBLE BATH
1 quart water
1 Bar grated castille soap
3 ounces glycerine
3 drops lilac perfume

LAVENDER BUBBLE BATH
1 quart water
1 Bar grated castille soap
2 ounces coconut oil
1 ounce glycerine
3 drops violet perfume or
2 drops violet floral oil

Any good soap can be used to make bubble bath, but castille generally is preferred. Before the soap can be made into bubble bath it must be converted to a liquid. To do this, grate 1 bar of castille soap into 1 quart of water, warm water helps dissolve the soap faster. Allow the soap and water to mix well so that you have a liquid soap solution. There are two ingredients that can convert liquid soap into bubble bath. These ingredients can be used together or independently of each other. An old-fashion way to make bubble bath is to add Glycerine to liquid soap (soap shaving and water.) Glycerine has the ability to make bubbles and
increase suds. Coconut oil is often used as a substitute for Glycerine, which is usually much higher priced. Coconut oil is very effective at creating lather. Both Glycerine and coconut oil are known for their special skin-softening properties.

Lip Balm Instructions & Recipes

40% of your recipe should be any cosmetic grade oil that is liquid at room temperature (sweet almond, apricot kernel, avocado, grapeseed, hemp seed, macadamia, olive, sunflower, etc.)

25% of your recipe should be any cosmetic grade oil that is solid at room temperature (coconut, lanolin, palm, mango butter, shea butter, mango butter, etc.)

20% of your recipe should be cosmetic grade Beeswax (white or yellow, pellets or solid blocks)

15% of your recipe should be any cosmetic grade oil that is brittle at room temperature (cocoa butter, palm kernel, etc.)

* The above measurements are "weights", so you can calculate your own recipe in ounces, grams, or pounds.
Directions: melt all carrier oils, honey, beeswax and butters over low heat. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the flavored oils, essential oils, vitamin E, etc. Stir until all ingredients are blended well and pour into containers. The easiest way to do this, is to purchase those inexpensive "pointy" paper drink cups (like the kind on the side of a water cooler). Cut off the point and use it as a funnel. Then you can just toss them out when you're finished!

You may have to "play around" with these recipes by adding a tiny bit more or less of the beeswax pellets. As with any of these recipes, if it comes out too soft, add a few more beeswax pellets; if it's too hard, add a little more almond oil (or other oil). They're really hard to mess up, so enjoy yourself and have fun.
