Caramel Cake

2 cups brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sweet butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour milk
2-1/4 cups cake flour, sifted 3 times
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add beaten eggs Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Add alternately with milk, beat well. Add vanilla extract. Bake at 375ยบ for 30 minutes, in a greased and floured pan. Reduce heat to 350 for glass pan.

Caramel Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

In medium saucepan, melt margarine. Add brown sugar, cook over low heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk, continue cooking until mixture boils,Remove from heat, gradually beat in powdered sugar. Add vanilla; mix well. Add more milk if necessary.
